~A HORSE CAN CHANGE A LIFE AS WE CAN THEIRS~

The most gratifying feeling is watching a horse blossom into itself from either what it once was or could of been. So many performance horses are "used up" and are left with nothing, or performance prospects that someone once thought was a "cull" and sent to auction.

Our mission is to help these performance horses:

*Get back to where they once were, or close to

*Help them find a retirement home or some kind of purpose in life if they are no longer sound enough to perform

*To get them to their full potential of what they should have been

Here are some of our success stories

"PEACHES" AQHA 2013 PALOMINO ROAN MARE- NCK FRENCH GOGODANCR

Peaches was bought through auction back in 2019. She was very malnourished, broken cheek bone, bruised hooves, and big leg & hoof scars. Brittany spent Peaches' first day home hauling her to the vet, chiropractor, and farrier to get her start on a new life. About 6 weeks later, Peaches underwent surgery to have the bone fragments removed from her face as the swelling and drainage kept getting worse. Peaches was said to have been a nice riding horse and lightly started on barrels and roping, so once she was at a healthy weight, the riding began.

Peaches is now a permanent member of Brittany's family.

"DOTTIE" AQHA 2015 SORREL MARE- GOUGH AINT EASY

Dottie was also purchased at auction in April 2020. Brittany found her in the very back corner pen and couldn't stop thinking about her after she had first seen her. Dottie longed for attention and was very sweet, but weary. She was very underweight, rope burn scarring on back leg, cracked front hoof, fuzzy and wormy. Was said to have 90 days riding. When Dottie was physically ready, she was saddled and worked with daily to help build muscle and topline.

Now, she found a permanent home in Salado with a boarder and friend who is entering her in barrel races and getting better with every ride.

SARGE 18Y.O. SORREL ROPING GELDING

Sarge was posted on facebook for sale. Roping gelding- finished breakaway, tie-down, and heading horse. Brittany had to purchase him in order to save this guy, not knowing if he would make it out to the other side or not. Sarge had a once broken tail bone that was never treated and created a tract hole along with a big hock from an old injury. TOML CBD donated "Sanitizer spray" and "Salve" to help heal the tract hole from the inside out as we were worried about infection. We are so happy to say Sarge did in fact make it to the other side. He still has some issues with hock. We have taken X-rays, of which showed lower hock is completely fused and the upper has had some kind of trauma causing arthritis. We opted to inject the upper which will help with the inflammation of the arthritis, but lower hock causes restrictions. He is currently getting Accuscope and Myotherapy in hopes to break up some of the calcification and regenerate healthy tissue.

Sugar Bear- 26y.o Sorrel Barrel/Rope Mare

Sugar Bear came to us with two other mares, Lilly & Tilly, June 25, 2021. The Bell Co. ACO came to us saying their owner needed help and was not quite knowledgeable or capable to help these girls get back to healthy weight. We had to pay $200 each to get them out of their current situation.

Sugar Bear started gaining weight and was put into the lesson program for a few months to help her get exercise as she could no longer be out on pasture with fresh grass due to testing positive for Cushings. We changed her feeding program to lower sugar and starch intake.

Sugar Bear now has a home with a couple littles to live the rest of her life out.
